To Whom It May Concern Links

October 12, 2020 //  by JSCooper//  4 Comments

To Whom it May Concern,

I would like to request more information about the assistant job I saw advertised in Sunday’s newspaper with the six figure starting salary. I have a bachelors degree in English and many years of work experience and think I would be a good fit for the job. My questions are as follows: 1. What is the exact nature of the job? 2. Is it a strict requirement that I live with the boss? If so, can I have friends and others over? 3. The ad states there is a uniform. May I ask what sort of uniform? And why? Also, in lieu of sending a photograph, I’ve sent a picture of my very friendly dog that would also be joining me if I were to get the job.

Yours Sincerely,

Savannah Carter

Ms. Carter,

How do you know you’ll be a good fit for the job if you do not know the nature of the work? My ad specifically stated I was looking for an MBA grad, not an English grad that knows nothing about the real world. 1. This would be discussed in the interview. 2. Yes, you would be living with me. And no guests are allowed. 3. The uniform would be provided on your first day. You don’t need to know why. The job advertisement asked for a personal photo, is this your way of telling me you look like a dog?

Today must be your lucky day because you’re the only person that responded to my ad. Are you available for a phone interview tomorrow?

The Wade Hart

Unfortunately, it grew too big for me to fit into my car for the drive to Florida (see bottom pics), so I just bought a new one for her house. The only pot I had here is too small so I'm going to repot it into the original pot when my stuff is finally shipped from California. #birdsofparadise #birdsofparadiseplant

My mum was such a talented artist and handbag designer. She had a real eye for fashion and design and she would spend hours and hours to get every single stitch perfect. Unlike me, I'm the sort of sewer that's okay with imperfection, haha. My mum would always make me go back and fix stitches if they were out of line. Even for the tote bags she made for me to giveaway and sell. She always made sure they were perfect because they were a reflection of the discipline and work you put into each item. I try to remind myself each day to do everything to the best of my ability and to not put anything out that represnts me in a sloppy manner. Though, I will never have her fashion sense and I've defintely gone out in my pajamas! 🤣 Oliver and I have defintely competed for most shaggy looking! I miss you, mum! I think about you every hour of the day! 🥰

I'm so grateful to my friend, Thao, who drove all the way from Texas with her family to come to my mum's funeral and then the day after put together a desk and chair I'd ordered for my room (that I had no energy or will to put together). All I need is to figure out a piece of art for the wall! (Oliver is sleeping on the rug behind me). Anyway, I'm back to work this week and hopefully I feel inspired to write.

I see her walking down the street towards me and I get excited and start hurrying towards her and then I reach her and it's someone else and then I wake up. I have never felt an emptiness like this before. I keep finding myself making decisions based on what my mum would like or want and then realize.... :(
