“Maybe I don’t want a blonde. Maybe I want a redhead.”

“Is that meant to make me feel special?”

“No, but it’s the truth. Take the day off tomorrow. Show me around San Francisco.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“I’m not asking you. I’m telling you.” I grabbed her hand.

“You can’t tell me to do anything.” She looked at me as if I was crazy and started laughing. “Are you out of your mind? I can’t believe you just said that.”

“You think it’s funny?” My lips twisted as I gazed down at her. If she knew how badly I wanted to take her over my lap and spank her she wouldn’t be laughing.

“No, I don’t think it’s funny. I think it’s hilarious that you think you can tell me anything.” She poked me in the chest. “You take me outside and kiss me, I turn you down, you go and try and fuck around with some hooker at the bar and then when you realize she’s not interested in you, you try and come back to me and boss me around.” She poked me again. “In your dreams, Marco.”

“You didn’t turn me down. And neither did blondie.” I held her hand to my chest. “Far from it.” I pulled her towards me and I circled her wrist so that I could feel her pulse racing. “If I were to kiss you right now, you wouldn’t stop me. If I were to slip you into a closet room at the back and tell you to get onto your knees and suck me, you would do it. Fuck, if I were to pick you up and carry you over to that pool table in the back and tell you to lie back, you’d do it eagerly. I wouldn’t even have to tell you to spread your legs for me.” Her heart was racing even faster now. “You’d let me pull your panties down in front of everyone and you would scream my name as I ate you out and you came on my face.” I licked my lips. “Don’t think I don’t know that.”

“You wish.” She pulled her hand away from me and glared, but I saw her eyes darting over to the pool table and back to me. “You wouldn’t even dare to try that.”

“Are you challenging me?” I raised an eyebrow at her and smirked. She had no idea who she was talking to.

“No.” She swallowed her. Maybe she did have a clue. “You’re not the only one that can say scandalous things, Marco.” She looked up at me through lowered eyelashes. “You’re not the only one that is capable of naughty things.”

“So then be naughty with me tomorrow. Take the day off.”

What will Millie do?

My mum was such a talented artist and handbag designer. She had a real eye for fashion and design and she would spend hours and hours to get every single stitch perfect. Unlike me, I'm the sort of sewer that's okay with imperfection, haha. My mum would always make me go back and fix stitches if they were out of line. Even for the tote bags she made for me to giveaway and sell. She always made sure they were perfect because they were a reflection of the discipline and work you put into each item. I try to remind myself each day to do everything to the best of my ability and to not put anything out that represnts me in a sloppy manner.
