One of the reasons I decided to sell my house in C One of the reasons I decided to sell my house in California was because I really wanted a pool or a hot tub, but because of how small my yard was, I couldn't have one. Even before Covid happened, I spent the majority of time working from home and I wanted to feel like I had a real writing oasis. My mum and I both loved pools and our plan had been to move into a pool home this year. I've decided to keep my mum's house and so I think it's only fitting to put a pool into this large backyard. The pool designer sent me an amazing design for the concept we came up with. The pool will be fully enclosed because this is Florida, but I'm so excited to see the finished pool! This is my before photo! I can't wait until I have the after! #pooldesign #newpool #floridapools #writingoasis
The coursebooks came for the sailing class I signe The coursebooks came for the sailing class I signed up for! We're meant to study and be ready for thr first day because we will have to take tests to get out certifications! My mum and I were going to take these classes together, so it's slightly bittersweet, but I'm super excited!! #asasailing #sailing

One of my favorite plants that my mum bought me fo One of my favorite plants that my mum bought me for my house in California was a birds of paradise. Unfortunately, it grew too big for me to fit into my car for the drive to Florida (see bottom pics), so I just bought a new one for her house. The only pot I had here is too small so I'm going to repot it into the original pot when my stuff is finally shipped from California. #birdsofparadise #birdsofparadiseplant

My vision board for this yard features a pool and a cute she-shed. Well, the vision board in my mind, I need to make a real one! That sounds like a fun project. Has anyone made a visiom board before? Any tips? #amwriting #yard #visionboard
My amazing friend @lizling send me a package with My amazing friend @lizling send me a package with some awesome plants last week and I finally got two small stands and some pots to house those plants and the ones I brought with me from California, in the lanai. At some point I want to bring some of the plants into the house, but the best light seems to be here at the back! #plants #plantshelfie #plantshelf #begonia #monstera #figtree

A couple of people asked me to share some of my mu A couple of people asked me to share some of my mum's artwork and bags. These are two bags that she made by hand and yes that is a real hide. My mum was such a talented artist and handbag designer. She had a real eye for fashion and design and she would spend hours and hours to get every single stitch perfect. Unlike me, I'm the sort of sewer that's okay with imperfection, haha. My mum would always make me go back and fix stitches if they were out of line. Even for the tote bags she made for me to giveaway and sell. She always made sure they were perfect because they were a reflection of the discipline and work you put into each item. I try to remind myself each day to do everything to the best of my ability and to not put anything out that represnts me in a sloppy manner. Though, I will never have her fashion sense and I've defintely gone out in my pajamas! 🤣 Oliver and I have defintely competed for most shaggy looking! I miss you, mum! I think about you every hour of the day! 🥰
